You may not believe it, but Marina Romea is actually one of the most famous spots in north-east of Italy. It's indicated as a quality spot in a large number of international guides because it offers surfable waves in every season of the year.
Thanks to its sandy beaches and to an easterly winds exposure, Marina Romea has been hanged out by surfers and longboarders from northern Italy.

THE SPOTS
The areas that work at best are “Il Palo", the northen Dam, the shallows in front of Bagno Marisa and the ones between the Bagno Romea and the Bagno Pineta.
"Il Palo" is situated in the northern part of the town, on the south side of the river Lamone's mouth. It works better with sirocco (S/E) swell, but it offers good waves also with E and N/E swells. The good quality of the water and the sandy seabed make it an affordable spot for surfers of any level.
The northern Dam is situated at the end of the long Marina Romea's beach, close to Ravenna's port. The spot is close to the long pier, an ideal shelter from the big S/E sea storms, letting the long 2 meters tall waves in.
Every area is easily reachable in a few minutes. Their nearness to the bathing establishments guarantees large free parkings and relaxing moments.
